Why Women-Only Group Tours Are Taking Off
There’s something pretty magical happening in the travel world—more and more women are packing their bags and heading off on adventures together, and honestly, I love to see it! Women-only group tours are having a serious moment, and here’s why.
1. It’s All About Feeling Safe and Supported
Traveling solo as a woman can feel a bit intimidating, especially when heading somewhere unfamiliar. I would happily jump on plublic transport in a foreign country in my early 20’s but as I get older, as much as i wish i could still be as carefree, the anxiety i would have isn’t worth the rush when you step off safely at your destination. Women-only group tours take away that worry, making it easy to just enjoy the experience without constantly being on guard. One of our past travellers put it best:
“As a single female, Africa didn’t feel that accessible because I didn’t know the best places to go and I didn’t have someone to do it with. Experiences like this are always better shared. To find a trip that was not only rooted in experiencing more than just the wildlife, but the fact that it was all female, was for me a must-do trip.”
This trend aligns with a growing movement in solo female travel. According to a report by Adido Digital, “women account for nearly two-thirds of all solo travellers,” demonstrating a clear shift towards female empowerment in travel.
2. The Friendships Are Next-Level
There’s something about travel that brings people together like nothing else. When you’re on an adventure with a group of like-minded women experience incredible things, the connections form fast and deep. Forget those awkward small-talk moments—on these trips, you’ll likely leave with lifelong friends.
“Who would have thought that a small group of women, spanning five decades from their 30s to their 70s, could form such deep and lasting friendships in just 10 days? We shared laughter, shed tears, and found a bond that will last a lifetime.”
And it turns out, we’re not the only ones noticing this trend. A recent study by Condé Nast Traveler found that 75% of women believe traveling with other women provides a stronger sense of connection and community.

3. No Judgments, No Pressure—Just You Being You
One of the best parts about a women-only group tour? The relaxed, supportive vibe. Unlike mixed-gender travel groups, where there can sometimes be unspoken competition or dynamics, women’s travel groups tend to be all about encouragement, shared experiences, and lifting each other up.
“On mixed group holidays, there has been tension around the sometimes vertical aspect of men relating, which creates competition and ‘top dogs.’ In our women-only group, the way we connected was without tension – differences were of interest rather than a threat.”
Plus, a recent Forbes article pointed out that many women find female-only trips to be a chance to focus on personal growth, away from traditional societal expectations.
4. A Digital Detox That’s Actually Fun
Let’s be honest, we’re all a little too attached to our phones. But something special happens when you’re out in the wild with no WIFI and spotty phone signal —suddenly, you’re fully present, soaking up every moment.
“The limited wifi and sporadic mobile connection, far from being a hindrance, were a gift. They allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the magnificence of nature and experience the true joy of living in the moment.”
And according to Travel Weekly, more women are actively seeking out trips where they can unplug and reconnect—with themselves, nature, and new friends.

5. It’s All About the Adventure (and the Confidence Boost)
Women’s group trips aren’t just about sightseeing—they’re about stepping outside your comfort zone, trying new things, and realizing you’re capable of way more than you thought.
“The beauty was in the people I met—to listen to other women who are pushing boundaries with their careers, taking adventures to reconnect with their past, and others taking life to the full after health concerns was inspiring. I took so much from being surrounded by these women. They showed me it’s all possible.”
